The Leap is the strongest Aimpoint ACRO Quick-Detach mount we’ve ever tested.
We put a variety of QD mounts on a digital test stand, capable of exerting up to 1500lbs of force, and analyzed load versus displacement data for each. We then used everything we learned from these tests to refine our original design, culminating in the Leap; a quick-detach mount that is both the lightest and strongest on the market today.

The Leap has no protruding levers, bolts, or knobs to rap your knuckles or get caught on clothing, gear, and surroundings.
CLICK DRIVE quick-detach mechanism is intuitive, self adjusting, and completely recoil proof. By decoupling clamping force from vibration resistance, ClickDrive™ doesn’t need massive amounts of imprecise torque, and is not dependent on unreliable friction. A low profile recessed thumbwheel deflects external impacts, while letting you take the mount off in under 3 seconds, with or without gloves.

I used this on a 7.5” AR with an ACRO P-1. This pistol has Troy “micro” height backup sights and its a perfect combo. The co-witness height of this mount and the low Troy sights get you a rough lower 1/3 arrangement. I keep the sights flipped down but can always use them as backup without having to remove the Scalarworks mount. Love the click detents in the clamping mechanisms, no tools to install!

This mount is extremely light weight yet doesn’t appear to compromise strength at all. Mounting system is very convenient to take on and off without any tools. Beside the point, but mill spec retail is about as good as it gets. They ship fast and have good prices
