The Super Modular Rail 13.5″ (SMR) MK16 M-LOK®, NSN# 1005-01-672-4794 (13.5”), has been adopted by USASOC for the URG-I program (Upper Receiver Group Improved).

The Geissele Super Modular Rail MK16 offers unmatched performance for the most demanding shooters. Mounted to your AR-15 upper using the updated version of the proven Geissele Barrel Nut design, the MK16 is not only easy to install and maintain, but offers superior rigidity. Anti-rotation tabs and set-screws ensure that your rail will won’t rotate, even under the most extreme conditions of use. M1913 picatinny rail on top and M-LOK™ slots on every quadrant ensures maximum customization for all your accessories. The Geissele SMR MK16 is precision machined using 6061-T6 Aluminum due to its strong, rigid and light properties, and is finished in durable Type-3 Hardcoat anodized.

Quality product from start to installation

This is my second block 3 build my first was a 11.5 with a mk16 10 inch I decided to try the 14.5 with the 13.5 mk16 and could not be happier it bolts on solid and has anti rotation tabs so if you mount a peq or something like it it can not lose it’s zero it’s way lighter than I thought it would be I really can’t tell any difference between my mk16 and bcm recce in weight it’s without a doubt my favorite geissele rail my only complaint is the built in qd sling mount is on the top of the rail around the 10 and 2 clock so it’s pretty much useless if you try to mount a vickers or magpul sling with qd it will only attach sideways so your sling will twist or not up which is a huge problem for me maybe not for others so I run a magpul sling mount on the end of the rail I would to see geissele move to the 3 and 9 o’clock and put 2 more qd sling mounts on the front like Midwest industries but not a huge dealbreaker for me and I’m sure geissele is going to keep making changes
