Forward Controls Design Trigger Guard – Winter

TGF (Trigger Guard, Forward Controls) is designed for use with TDP spec forged lower receivers, and fills the gap forward of the pistol grip, between the trigger guard “ears”. The winter version has as much constant/unchanged space from the trigger bow forward as possible (instead of the space inside tapering and decreasing as the trigger guard nears the receiver’s front trigger guard holes).

  • Available in anodized black, desert tan, and OD green.
  • Lower receivers made from Cerro Forge “keyhole” forgings generally have taller trigger guard ears, as do Colt, LMT, and BCM lower receivers.
  • Please note ZEV produced lower receivers appear to have shorter trigger guard ears, and these shortened ears expose a bit of the bottom of the TGF, as shown below. This has no bearing on functionality. The latest Mega lowers (with the old Mega atomic whirl) has been reported to have long ears that do cover the TGF.
  • TGF is proudly designed and made in the USA. A trigger guard roll pin and set screw (for the front) are included. A 1/16 Allen wrench is required (not included).
  • TGF is machined from 7075 aluminum.

Forward Controls Design CNF Castle Nut

The TDP spec castle nut is a simple and robust fastener that is almost perfect for the job it’s tasked to perform. Over the years, FCD has consistently come up with two minor gripes, first is its staking notches seem rather shallow and short, second is many don’t enjoy using the castle nut’s wrench notches as serrations (fingers invariably find their way to these sharp cutouts) to rotate it towards to the endplate while installing it.

  • Staking notches angle changed from 45 to 30 degrees, this results in longer (25% longer than TDP spec) and deeper notches than found on TDP castle nuts.
  • Number of staking notches increased from 3 to 4, spaced equally on the CNF. The castle nut is to be staked in two places, we’re not advocating staking in more than two places, CNF’s 4 staking notches mean that, at all times, 3 will be visible and available for staking, it simply gives the user more staking location options.
  • Coarse serrations on the wrench side of the nut, a single-use feature to make it easier while rotating the CNF towards the endplate.

The Geissele 2 Stage (G2S) was designed to be a high quality, cost-effective option of the Super Semi-Automatic SSA trigger. The G2S is a non-adjustable combat trigger that is a precision two-stage trigger and allows precise and accurate trigger control. The G2S is manufactured from the same tool steel as the SSA and the sears are also wire EDM cut. Visually, from the outside of the weapon there is no difference from the SSA and the feel and reliability are the same. The G2S however has a different way of holding the hammer pin in place, there is no laser markings, and the parts are only spot checked for MP.
