The Arisaka Defense Indexer is a continuation of our low profile, minimal control accessories. It was developed due to end-user demand for a Geissele SMR 416 version of our Finger Stop for Picatinny rails, and features a slim front-to-back profile and slight radius across both faces.

The Indexer can be used in a variety of ways, but the main intent is to place it between two fingers (usually index and middle). This typically places it further forward on the handguard, which also means it doesn’t get in the way when transitioning to kneeling or prone shooting positions, where most people move their support hand towards the rear. Used in this manner, the Indexer makes it much easier to pull the rifle into your shoulder and maintain control while shooting.

The Arisaka Defense Offset Scout Mount replaces the stock Picatinny rail adapter with a low profile mount which tucks your weapon-light in much closer to the handguard.

When used on the side mounting surfaces of Picatinny handguards, the Offset Scout Mount places the light at a 45 degree angle and tucks it in closer to the rail system. Oriented upwards, the light is located at approximately the 1:30 or 10:30 clock positions. Oriented downwards, the light is located at approximately the 4:30 or 6:30 clock positions.

The Arisaka Tailcap Adapter allows Streamlight Protac Rail Mount 1 and 2 lights to use Surefire Scout tailcaps and remote switches. In particular, the Protac Rail Mount lights can now be used with the Surefire SR-D-IT and TNVC/Unity TAPS dual switches, which are commonly paired with laser/illuminators like the ATPIAL and DBAL series.

One of the main flaws of the Protac Rail Mount lights is also addressed: Streamlight did not design a front battery spring into the light, so under recoil, the battery can come off the front contact and cause the light to flicker or blink. To help prevent this behavior the adapter includes a removable buffer o-ring on the front face which ensures the battery cannot move rearward while firing.

The Arisaka Momentary Tailcap is a replacement switch for the Arisaka 300 and 600 Series Light Bodies, plus Surefire Scout lights. This model is designed to be momentary only with twist for constant on. The tailcap can be threaded all the way in for constant on, or backed out approximately two turns to prevent accidental activation during storage or travel.

Momentary only switches are the preferred style for many weapon instructors because they simplify light operation. Under stress, there’s no need to worry about accidentally pressing the switch too far and clicking on the light (like with a Surefire Z68 or Arisaka Clicky Tailcap).
